South Atlantic Bank exists to serve the financial needs of our coastal community. We continually work to assist in economic development in new markets.
Recently, the bank expanded into Beaufort and is investing more resources into the area. South Carolina is home to some of the fastest-growing markets in the country, and Northern Beaufort County is no exception.
Senior vice president, commercial relationship manager for Beaufort, Christian Kata, joined South Atlantic Bank in this effort. “The Bank has been very successful in Beaufort County and opening a location North of the Broad is a natural fit,” says Christian, who has ten years of commercial banking experience in the Beaufort market and is excited to continue building relationships in the area.
“Beaufort is unique and a beautiful place to live,” Christian stated. He has lived in Beaufort since 2012 and serves on the Greater Beaufort-Port Royal Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Beaufort Area Sports Council, which aims to diversify the tourism base in town. Christian enjoys playing golf and visiting Hunting Island with his wife, Amanda, and two kids, Natalie and Luke.
Christian understands all aspects of banking having started his career as a teller before moving into a Credit Analyst role. “Now as a Lender, I truly enjoy working with people. Learning about their story and understanding the fundamentals of their business, I have the opportunity to help them succeed and grow in the community.”
“It’s all about relationships and access,” Christian explained, “Businesses benefit when they can call their Banker directly and know we are here in the community.”
Living in and being part of the communities we serve is vital to South Atlantic Bank. We have branches in the markets we serve to make our commercial team available for clients.
