John Howenstine

John is a Myrtle Beach native graduating from Myrtle Beach High School and Coastal Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a concentration in finance. His local knowledge of the Grand Strand can be very useful when talking with clients looking to buy a home in the area.

John began his career in sales and in 2019  joined South Atlantic Bank’s Mortgage Operations department.  During this time John got to see and learn the inner workings of the mortgage industry and how to efficiently and technically close a mortgage loan.  Being able to review and help with multiple aspects of a borrowers file provided him with unique training and taught him the importance of details and having clear communication between borrower and lender.  This experience has provided him the knowledge to help homebuyers navigate through the mortgage process and explain the best financial options available when seeking to buy or refinance their home.   

John is also a licensed XINNIX Certified Originator (XCO). Less than 1% of all loan officers in the nation hold this prestigious designation as it is awarded to those who complete extensive training on Mortgage principles including… Knowledge, Skills, Discipline and Ethics.
