Habitat for Humanity of Horry County has been awarded $200,000 in Affordable Housing Program (AHP) funds from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta (FHLBank Atlanta), in partnership with South Atlantic Bank as the member bank. This funding will support Habitat’s mission to provide safe, affordable housing solutions for families in Horry County.
The AHP funding will be used to assist with the construction of affordable homes for income-eligible families, empowering them to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership. These funds will play a critical role in Habitat for Humanity of Horry County’s efforts to address the local housing crisis by increasing access to homeownership opportunities for families in need.

The Affordable Housing Program, offered by FHLBank Atlanta, provides competitive grants to support housing initiatives that serve low- to moderate-income households. By partnering with local banks like South Atlantic Bank, these funds can be leveraged to create lasting impact in communities across the Southeast.

Through this collaboration, South Atlantic Bank will provide fixed-rate mortgages to Habitat homebuyers. This initiative will allow Habitat to reinvest in building more homes for hardworking families in Horry County. South Atlantic Bank, deeply rooted in the communities it serves, is committed to ensuring that Horry County’s workforce has access to safe, attainable housing. By leveraging this partnership, Habitat can expand its impact and help more Horry County residents achieve the dream of homeownership.
