Important Information About Opening a New Account
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: when you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying information. Additionally, we will review credit history and obtain reports from consumer reporting agencies.
For a printed version, print out our simple signup form and take a few minutes to fill it out. Then bring your form to a South Atlantic Bank branch, where we’ll finish setting up your account.
We welcome walk-ins, but to ensure a speedy process, we encourage you to call ahead and schedule an appointment with the branch you intend to visit.
Additionally, you may drop your form off through our drive through, and we will call to set up a followup appointment to finalize your account.
If you’d like us to fill out your form for you, just give us a call!
What to bring
We’ll need you to bring a few things with you to open your account.
- Photo ID
- Cash or a check to fund your opening deposit
If you plan to add another user to your account, both signers must appear at the bank with a photo ID before the account can be authorized.
When you’ve successfully opened your account you’ll receive an email containing our Switch Kit, which will help you transition from your old account and make the most of your new SAB account.
